Vienna 1815-20. Circle of Joseph Danhauser. Magnificent Viennese Biedermeier wardrobe of unique and rare beauty.
Description:
Vienna c.a. 1815-20. Rare wardrobe from the early phase of the Viennese Biedermeier period, in a state of practical integrity, veneered and mirrored in high-quality walnut burl, typical of the splendid woods from the Viennese surroundings. The master cabinetmakers of the Biedermeier period knew the locations where the best trees grew and kept them secret. To obtain veneers of such beauty, they also knew the best parts of the tree and cut them with great skill, achieving wood effects that constitute the particular attraction of authentic Biedermeier furniture and represent its uniqueness and excellence in the world of high antique furniture from all eras. Ebonized details. The furniture is dismantled, following the "practical" logic typical of ancient Austrian cabinetmaking, to allow for easy transport. Dimensions: 180 cm height x 134 cm width x 53.5 cm depth. In a state of practical integrity with expert conservative restoration and French polish applied to the original patina using museum-standard techniques. A magnificent work with a timeless design, with a sober and elegant line, also excellent for pairing with high-end modern furniture for a unique, exclusive, and refinedly elegant ensemble (see simulations at the bottom of the page). From the warm golden-amber color of the antique patina of light walnut with a true French polish finish. Observe the second and third photos on this page, which are computer-generated fantasy simulations where the work is imagined in a high-end modern furnishing context. They reveal amazing "modernity," luminosity, and abstraction for a work conceived over two centuries ago. With a great touch of class and elegance to the ensemble. The high ancient Viennese cabinetmaking of the Classicism period (1770-1830), with its sober and minimalist elegance and precious, light woods, is strongly linked to the lines of contemporary modern furniture. NB. For these reasons and for the construction quality and woods used, the early Empire and early Viennese Biedermeier styles by designers, prototypes of modernism, are currently among the most requested styles by architects and interior designers on the international market, destined for strong future revaluation; this also considering the rarity and scarce availability of high Viennese cabinetmaking originals on the market.
