Pair of rare chamfered briarwood bedside tables - 18th century Venetian manufacture
Description:
Measurements: 49 x 73 x 39 cm
Materials: briarwood, precious woods, bronze
Prestigious pair of high-quality cabinetmaking bedside tables, characterized by a refined chamfered line that tapers downwards. The front is embellished with a careful selection of briarwood arranged in a mirror pattern, creating a chromatic and veined play of extraordinary elegance, typical of noble commissions.
The structure features a drawer beneath the top and a large door below, both framed by fine inlay work and quarter-sawn wood reserves. The sides follow the broken line of the central body, lending dynamism and three-dimensionality to the furniture. The whole rests on elegant carved cabriole legs.
These pieces represent a classic example of the Venetian Barocchetto style, where structural solidity merges with the lightness of curved forms and the richness of natural materials.
The work is attributable to the refined Venetian manufacture, renowned for its mastery in the use of briarwood and for the harmonious proportions of its sideboards.
Period: mid-18th century.
Dimensions: 49 cm width, 73 cm height, 39 cm depth.
Condition: The items are in excellent condition, with the original patina preserved and normal signs of age attesting to their authenticity.
