Piedmontese walnut sideboard  Translated
Description:
Piedmontese walnut sideboard Antique Piedmontese walnut furniture, an expression of late 17th-century woodworking, with a robust construction, balanced proportions, and artisanal details that tell the story of the evolution of ancient subalpine furniture. Technical Information: Period: second half of the 17th century Origin: Piedmont Wood type: Walnut Height: 112 cm Width: 134 cm Depth: 57 cm Description: Piedmontese sideboard from the second half of the 17th century, a solid and compact piece of furniture, made of walnut with a warm, slightly amber finish typical of subalpine production of the period. The double-door structure is articulated in essential lines that reflect a taste that is still fully 17th-century, focused on functionality and measured decoration. The front is dominated by two large carved panels, each adorned with a radial star motif, incised with deep grooves that create a marked plastic effect. The frame of the doors is punctuated by simple, geometric bands, while the sides retain smooth panels framed by moldings. The base, solid and slightly projecting, rests on bracket feet with small period moldings. Hand-forged wrought iron is present on the back and inside - hinges and locks with visible hammered rivets. The top, made from a single wide plank, shows the natural patina of time. Work carried out on all our furniture: - Structural restoration: restoration of small missing parts, closing of any cracks on the back, consolidation of damaged areas, inspection and repair of hardware. - Thorough anti-woodworm treatment. - Cleaning and sanitization of interiors. - External finish with natural beeswax. - Internal finish with shellac, a natural alcohol-based varnish. Customizations: Upon request, it is possible to agree on: - the desired degree of restoration; - customization of the interiors (addition of hanging rails, shelves, dividers, etc.).  Translated
