In this Holy Family, the central figure is Mary: seated in the center of the scene, she turns her face to her left towards Joseph, intently and attentively listening to what her companion is reading to her from a book; meanwhile, the woman's arms are lovingly covering the young Jesus with a cloth, who sleeps peacefully in the cradle to his mother's right. The Child's face, moreover, is illuminated and radiates its light towards the Mother. In the background, an Italian landscape. The figures appear harmonious and balanced in their body movements, and the entire scene emanates a very earthly domestic tranquility and serenity. The painting was relined at the beginning of the 20th century. Traces of previous tears and slight paint losses are visible. It is presented in a gilded frame from the early 1900s (gilding losses).
