Veneer display cabinet in various woods. France, late 19th century. 120 x 37 x h 209 cm. A two-door, vertically oriented display cabinet, entirely veneered in burr walnut with a herringbone pattern, with dark wood banding to delineate the surfaces. The shaped cresting with a flowing profile is adorned in the center with a gilded bronze mask. The doors are each divided into two shaped glass panels, framed by chased bronze strips with floral motifs and volutes at the corners. Further bronze applications decorate the side uprights, the central locking bar, and the base, which terminates with a shaped profile featuring double volutes. Condition report: Minor breaks and losses in the bronze applications.
