Vienna, circa 1815, in practical integrity including the glass part, showcase/silversmith also as a library cabinet of the early Viennese Biedermeier period.
Description:
Vienna, circa 1815. Of museum quality, especially for its state of preservation and integrity, including the glass part, cabinet/silversmith of the early Viennese Empire in transition to the Biedermeier. The piece of furniture is veneered in pear wood, then blackened with smoke using a technique in which Viennese master cabinetmakers were specialized. The piece of furniture, intact even in the lacquer (the furniture does not show repainting - a rare circumstance given the delicacy of this type of finish which, for most of the existing works, caused the need for subsequent interventions), has been French polished even in the interiors with a technique of museum standard. Dimensions: 172 cm high, 113 cm wide, 45 cm deep. Perfect also for matching with high-end modern furniture, in an ensemble of great elegance and class. Work in conditions of practical integrity with French polish finishing. Original lacquer. In accordance with the provisions of the New Code of Cultural Heritage, the selling company provides, at the time of sale, a detailed written photographic guarantee of originality and provenance of the works sold. The data with which the works are described and then contained in the written guarantees are expressed determinations resulting from accurate and documented technical/historical/artistic investigations, even of expert assessment. Copying and duplication are prohibited for commercial reasons and/or to describe other works for sale, even if considered in some way similar. Observe the last photo of this card, which is a fantasy computer simulation where the work is imagined in a high-end modern furniture context. A "modernity", a luminosity and an astounding abstraction emerge for a work conceived over two centuries ago. With a great touch of class and elegance to the whole. The high Viennese antique cabinetmaking of the classicism period (1770 - 1830), with its sober and minimal elegance, its precious and clear essences, is very much linked to the lines of contemporary modern furniture.
