Cobalt blue Sèvres porcelain urn vase with gilded phytomorphic decorations and polychrome medallions, one depicting a lake landscape, while the other depicts a bucolic scene; the latter bears the signature "Cottiret". The multilobed base, the handles with female heads, and the pine cone on the lid are in gilded bronze. Under the lid is the inscription "Offert par le duc de Choiseul à Madam de Compan"; there is a double mark with the coat of arms of the manufacturer.
