Biography: Italian painter who, with his painting, contributed to the affirmation of abstractionism in Italy from 1945. In 1947, he went to Paris for the first time where, thanks to Gino Saverini, he met major international artists including Georges Braque, Fernard Léger, Hans Arp, artists by whom he was deeply influenced. In 1948, he exhibited at the Rome Quadriennale and at the "Salon des réalités nouvelles" in Paris; he often participated in the Venice Biennale.
