Cabinet. Measurements: cm. h. 195x49x115. Manufacture: Egyptian. Period: last quarter of the 19th century. Materials: carved walnut, ebony, ebonized wood, mother-of-pearl and bone inlay. Drawer in the base, above a compartment closed by three doors, above a top surmounted by a rich structure, elaborate pediment with carvings and openwork. The quality and richness of Parvis's materials are highlighted. We note the use and mastery of every cabinetmaking technique: inlay, carving, turning, ebonizing, etc. At the bottom, a panel decorated with inlaid almonds forming a complex design, characteristic of the Parvis manufacture, and alongside the typical moucharabieh turnings.
