Object Description: Refined Louis XVI style chest of drawers with four drawers (two large and two side-by-side at the top). The piece perfectly embodies the neoclassical taste of the period, favoring straight lines, balanced proportions, and sober geometric decoration.
Key Features:
Materials and Inlay: Made of fine walnut wood with beautiful mirror-like grain. The front and sides are enhanced with squaring with light wood (boxwood) borders, creating an elegant and discreet chromatic contrast.
Top: Follows the same decorative scheme as the body of the cabinet, with a large central panel framed by a geometric inlaid Greek key border.
Supports: The piece rests on the typical inverted trunk-shaped feet, a distinctive element of the Louis XVI style, which lend dynamism and lightness to the structure.
Hardware: Features original chiseled and gilded bronze keyhole escutcheons and ring handles, decorated with neoclassical garland and urn motifs of exquisite craftsmanship.
Condition: The piece is in excellent structural condition. The patina is warm and deep, with a shellac polish.
