Piero Dorazio, an Italian painter who, with his work, contributed to the affirmation of abstractionism in Italy after World War II.
In 1947 he traveled to Paris for the first time where, thanks to Gino Severini, he met major international artists including Georges Braque, Fernand Léger, and Hans Arp, by whom he was profoundly influenced.
In 1948 he exhibited at the Quadriennale di Roma and at the “Salon des réalités nouvelles” in Paris; he often participated in the Venice Biennale.
