Excellent condition
Splendid two-drawer commode, entirely curved and bulging on the front and sides, supported by 4 tall, sinuous legs.
The contained dimensions, perfect proportions, and elegant movement of the body, along with the precious woods used, make it a piece of furniture of exceptional beauty.
The cabinetmaker's choice to prefer a wooden top, avoiding the more common marble top, further refines the overall piece and makes it rarer and more sought-after.
In fact, while presenting all the characteristics of the finest French Louis XV commodes, in this case it differs precisely by the absence of the marble top and bronze mounts, much appreciated in France but often far from Italian taste.
The only concession to decorative references from across the Alps are the finely chased bronze handles and keyhole escutcheons, placed symmetrically in the center of the geometric reserves that stand out on the front of the piece.
We guarantee its complete integrity, with all external and internal parts without modifications or replacements.
The restoration was limited to surface cleaning and the application of shellac with a pad, making the luminous wood essences used shine.
