Made entirely of veined marble and finely chiseled gilded bronze. Louis XV style decorations depicting a triumph of acanthus leaves, palmettes and two satyr heads.

The Susse Frères Foundry is a historic French foundry known primarily for the production of bronze sculptures and decorations. Founded in 1839 by Auguste Susse, the company distinguished itself for the high quality and refined design of its works, often characterized by elaborate details and great skill in bronze casting. During the Belle Époque, Susse Frères collaborated with several famous artists, helping to create some of the most iconic sculptures of the era and reaching the peak of its notoriety.
- This pair of vases made of veined yellow marble, features Ormolu decorations in gilded bronze signed by its designer and marked by the Foundry with the number 38. The bronzes, including the four satyr masks, wrap and decorate the shafts with elegant vegetable volutes and acanthus leaves. An identical pair of vases, bearing the same Becker and Susse Frères signatures, but in pink veined marble were sold at Christie's London (19th Century Furniture, Sculpture, Works of Art and Ceramics including a Property from the Palazzo of a Milanese Noble Family, March 19, 2009, lot 87, for £22,500).
