Piero Dorazio, an Italian painter, contributed to the affirmation of abstractionism in Italy from 1945 onwards. In 1947, he visited Paris for the first time where, thanks to Gino Severini, he met major international artists including: Georges Braque, Fernand Léger, and Hans Arp, artists by whom he would be profoundly influenced.
In 1948, he exhibited at the Quadriennale di Roma and at the "Salon des réalités nouvelles" in Paris. He often participated in the Venice Biennale.
Today, he is considered one of the most important artists of the last century.
