Important Emilian chest datable between the late 17th and early 18th centuries, made entirely of solid walnut wood, with a beautiful antique patina and balanced proportions.
The front is articulated by molded panels enriched with elegant inlaid motifs in late 17th-early 18th century style, with mixtilinear reserves and stylized phytomorphic decorations, an expression of a good quality production typical of the Emilian area.
The structure rests on shaped feet with refined fretwork, an element of particular interest that visually lightens the piece of furniture and underlines its elegance.
The hinged lid preserves original wrought iron hardware, well preserved, as well as the original lock, a detail always appreciated in furniture of this type and era.
From a conservation point of view, the chest of drawers is in excellent general condition, with normal signs of aging and minimal restoration work and small replacements in some marginal parts, carried out in compliance with the structure and historical interpretation of the furniture. The whole retains its ancient character, with an authentic and pleasant patina.
