George II sterling silver tankard, William Dalton, Newcastle, 1747
Of gently tapering cylindrical form on a flared foot, the body has an applied central band. The hinged double-domed lid lifts by means of a volute thumbpiece, with a cast hinge section. The double C-scroll handle terminates unusually with a large cast fluted shell.

Shield with three separate castles: city of Newcastle

Slight signs of wear and superficial scratches. The 5 hallmarks are present at the base of the tankard. While on the handle we find the manufacturer's logo.
