Splendid centerpiece (bowl) in Japanese Imari porcelain, dating back to the second half of the 19th century, embellished with a refined gilt bronze mount in eclectic style.
Main Features:
The Porcelain: The porcelain body features the classic Imari color palette: underglaze cobalt blue, iron red and touches of pure gold on a white background. The rich, minute decoration depicts natural floral motifs, peonies and bamboo branches, typical of the Arita decorative tradition.
The Mount: The object is elevated by a complex structure in gilt bronze.
The Handles: Two spectacular lateral handles in the shape of fantastic creatures (dragons or chimeras) finely chiseled, which give impetus and importance to the piece.
The Edge: A perforated upper ring with geometric and floral motifs that frames the opening.
The Base: A four-support foot decorated with volutes and shell motifs, which guarantees stability and elegance.
State of Conservation: The object is in excellent general condition. The gilding of the bronze retains a beautiful luster and the porcelain has no visible cracks or restorations.
