This refined door knob represents an excellent example of artistic hardware, cast in bronze and finished with an original gilding. The element stands out for a complex plastic workmanship that elevates a functional object of use to a decorative work of art. The main structure is characterized by a generously gadrooned cap, where the raised ribs, executed with extreme technical precision, converge symmetrically towards a smooth central button, creating a dynamic play of light and shadow on the metal surface. The elegantly molded stem acts as a connection between the handle and an elegant fixing plate. The latter is enriched by refined shell motifs and stylized palmettes, typical elements of the ornamental repertoire of Neoclassicism and the Louis XVI style. From a technical point of view, the object boasts impeccable structural solidity. The state of conservation is to be considered excellent: the patina of time, uniformly distributed, attests to the antiquity of the piece without compromising the brilliance of the underlying gilding. The original square-section pin (8 mm) is intact and perfectly functional, making the element ready for a prestigious placement in a context of conservative restoration or in a high-profile period interior.
