Refined ebonized wood box, with upper balustrade in brass. The box has a rectangular shape and is adorned on the sides with four antique Capodimonte porcelain plaques, depicting episodes from Greek-classical mythology, including Apollo and Artemis killing the children of Niobe, the myth of Phaeton, the Judgement of Paris and the Rape of Ganymede. The box is also opened by a small bronze key, revealing a hidden space inside to store objects. On the upper part, the balustrade and the small space should have served as a flower box. It is an object of particular elegance, capable of giving a touch of class and antiquity to any environment. Neapolitan manufacture from the Napoleon III period, around the mid-19th century.
