Rare Umbrian candle-bearing angels from the early 16th century.
Description:
Pair of exceptionally beautiful and rare torch-bearing angels. The polychrome lacquers and gold leaf decoration are still well preserved, despite their age. These objects are untouched and original in every part; indeed, they have never been restored and may require conservation work.
The artistic context of these two angels is purely Umbrian, dating from the late 15th and early 16th centuries, specifically from the Spoleto area.
The height of the sculptures is 63 cm.
The sale will be accompanied by a historical guarantee certificate.
The pair of rare candle-bearing sculptures can be viewed at our antique gallery located in Foligno, Piazza Giacomini, 42.
