Rare prie-dieu convertible into an armchair, with an ingenious rotating mechanism. Central Europe, first half of the 18th century or possibly the last years of the 17th century. In conditions of practical integrity, upholstery covered with elegant red velvet. Fascinating work in robust solid oak wood with a warm original patina. Height cm 82-95, width 58, depth 60. Restored, reupholstered and consolidated with conservative criteria according to the rules of ancient art to museum standards, with shellac finish applied with a pad on the original patina, with a pleasant non-gloss or semi-gloss effect, suitable for high-period furniture.
