Description Pair of George III sterling silver sugar bowls with lids, Thomas Chawner, London, 1783 Elongated oval shape with raised circular foot and removable lid. Two curved side handles with beaded details. Beaded edging along the upper edge, at the base and on the lid. Lid with central knob. Engravings with heraldic coat of arms on both sides. Matching two finely crafted silver spoons. Sterling silver marked with 4 hallmarks: Manufacturer's logo: Thomas Chawner Lion passant: alloy mark. Guarantee control of the sterling title 925‰ Leopard's head with crown: City of London Date letter year: 1783 Dimensions HxWxD 14.5cm x 23cm x 10.5cm Weight 1.376gr Provenance Private collection Conditions Slight signs of wear and superficial scratches.
