Louis XV small table in solid walnut, with maple wood inlays.
The top depicts a convivial genre scene, with a festive atmosphere. On a checkered floor, arranged like a stage, various human figures follow one another, captured in animated and conversational attitudes, as in a small theatrical performance. In the center, a violinist appears, leaning on a barrel, who seems to set the rhythm of the scene. Around him, groups of characters are engaged in conversation, gesturing, or dancing: a couple in a confidential pose, male figures in popular attire, and a woman seated at a table. The broad, theatrical gestures, as well as the slightly emphasized postures, suggest a lively and narrative atmosphere.
