Refined oil painting on ceramic plate, in a carved and faux marble painted wooden frame. The painting depicts a character in a Venetian carnival mask, in eighteenth-century clothing, with a wig, mask, and refined clothes. The man's gaze is directed towards the viewer, almost in a challenging tone, of which the pictorial technique and the realistic rendering of details are appreciated. It is a particular painting, of great taste, able to give a touch of class and refinement to any environment. In the lower right is the artist's signature, namely Trionfi, referring to the Livorno painter Emanuele Trionfi (1832-1900), famous for his pictorial production of still lifes and portraits, and active in Florence, where he was also a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts. Tuscan manufacture of the second half of the 19th century.
