An allegory of the virtues of Strength, Prudence, and Wisdom, the work features female figures accompanied by putti and clear symbolic attributes. Strength, identified by armor, assumes a dominant role; Prudence is evoked by the mirror, an emblem of self-awareness and discernment; Wisdom emerges from the compositional balance and the measured dialogue between the figures.
The scene, constructed with formal harmony, soft colors, and controlled gestures, fully reflects the late Baroque language of Antonio Balestra, a Veronese painter attentive to narrative clarity and classical elegance.
