The stylistic characteristics, the nocturnal setting illuminated by candlelight, and the use of warm and vibrant colors with an excellent interplay of light and shadow lead its attribution to a Veronese artist in the circle of Antonio Balestra (Verona, 1666-1740). The context, already highly evocative in itself, takes on even more enchanting tones thanks to its nocturnal setting, with the protagonist at the center of the canvas illuminated by a dazzling light that seems to eman from his divine body. The canvas is in excellent condition and comes with a beautiful antique gilded frame.
