A rare jewel painted on slate, depicting the magical moment of the Annunciation.
The Archangel Gabriel, splendid, with wings spread, appears before the Virgin to announce the Great Event.
The Divine Messenger holds the lily, a symbol of purity, in his right hand and points with his left to the White Dove, the Holy Spirit, which in a halo of light performs the Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary.
The work is part of the important production of slate paintings from the Veronese school, which rarely appear on the market, and are highly sought after by collectors.
In this case, the author distinguishes himself by the particular finesse in the description of the scene and by the extraordinary luminosity of the chromatic range which gives the image the effect of a supernatural event.
