Chiseled and gilded bronze table clock, France, early 19th century  Translated
Description:
Chiseled and gilded bronze table clock, France, early 19th century Measurements: cm H 30 x W 22 x D 12 Price: private negotiation Item accompanied by a certificate of authenticity This table clock was made of chiseled and gilded bronze in the early 19th century in France, Empire period. The bronze structure consists of a central part, in which the clock case is positioned. This is supported by two swans placed in profile with open wings. The necks of the swans, curved downwards, support an ovoid openwork basket with a railing with a geometric motif. The swans rest their paws on a richly chiseled oval base. In the upper band there is a decoration with ribbons and sunflower motifs. In the front band, an application, also in gilded bronze, is chiseled with the depiction of two swans, whose bodies transform into plant elements, supporting a basket full of flowers. The base rests on four circular section feet. The clock is very decorative, particularly suitable for display on chests of drawers and consoles, but also on desks, bookcases and coffee tables. Bright and elegant, it can be combined with both antique and modern furniture. Inside the basket it is possible to place a composition of flowers or fruit, or it can be conceived as a perfume burner. The bronze finish, even on the back, makes the clock pleasant even when placed in front of a mirror. The clock movement is working, to be serviced.  Translated
