Interesting and rare octagonal frame from the Roman area of the second half of the 17th century, containing a contemporary mirror.
The fascinating object is characterized by being composed of different materials: the frame is made of ebonized wood and carved in the borders with various orders of carving, while the body of the frame includes gilded bronze plates decorated with burin work that frame and contain an oval marble inlay in the center. Each plate features a marble inlay of a different type and different colors.
On each side of the frame, a bronze cymatium has been applied with phytomorphic decoration and containing a winged putto.
The object of rare quality for construction and preservation of the original elements still retains its original and antique mirror.
The maximum overall dimensions of this mirror are 42cm x 38cm, the external frame measures 30 cm x 26 while the measurements of the internal light are 19 cm x 15cm.
