Louis XIV veneered desk, Piedmont, first half of the 18th century
Description:
Furniture with an opening top (coin cabinet?) Louis XIV, veneered in rosewood and threaded in fruit wood.
Moved body with strongly shaped legs and richly decorated profiles. The elegant geometry of the threads creates contrasting ornamental motifs.
The interior is probably intended for storing small valuable objects, according to a type widely used in Baroque-era Piedmontese production.
