Liberty Vase – Royal Copenhagen  Translated
Description:
Liberty Vase – Royal Copenhagen Porcelain vase with an elongated ovoid profile, with a short neck with a slightly flared mouth and a barely raised ring foot. The body is covered with an underglaze glaze in shades of blue-grey, modulated in soft tonal passages that reveal a dense pattern of stylized leaves, almost in silhouette. In the upper area runs a decorative band with ivory chrysanthemums with a brown outline, alternating with large white waves, of synthetic design, which allude to the "three waves" of the trademark and refer to the naturalistic and Japanizing language promoted by Arnold Krog at the beginning of the twentieth century. The pictorial quality, the atmospheric rendering of the background and the refined balance between floral elements and the undulating pattern of the upper band are fully consistent with the Royal Copenhagen production of the Krogian area. Jenny Meyer's signature attests to the execution of the decoration by one of the main porcelain painters active in the factory in those years. Copenhagen, Denmark; circa 1900/1910. Manufacturer: Royal Copenhagen – Den Kongelige Porcelænsfabrik Author: Jenny Meyer (signature in blue under the glaze) Dimensions: h 21 cm  Translated
