LUIGI XV CHEST OF DRAWERS "TOMBEAU" SIGNED JEAN-BAPTISTE FROMAGEAU 1743-1793

Elegant French Louis XV period "tombeau" chest of drawers from the 18th century, stamped under the top J.B. Fromageau "1743 - 1793". With curved and rounded shapes and made entirely of bois de violette and rosewood veneer. It has a front with five drawers, with three small drawers under the top and two large drawers below. Drawer fronts inlaid with floral motifs in various woods, as are the wavy sides, also inlaid with floral motifs in various woods. It has elegant and rich gilded bronze trims, and is topped by an original Breccia Argentum marble top. N.B. Note a small missing piece in one corner of the marble on the left side, see photo.
