This splendid pair of paintings presents all the pictorial and chromatic characteristics of the most elegant Venetian landscape painting of the 18th century.
The compositions are particularly harmonious, and the remarkable plays of light between the shaded areas of the dense vegetation and the luminous backgrounds are highly effective.
They are evidently two high-level works that can easily be associated with the production of the Venetian Master Giuseppe Zais, a great interpreter of Landscape painting from the "Golden Age" of Venice.
The refined pale blue hues of the mountains in the distance, which create a remarkable effect of depth, and the figures described with skillful brushstrokes in the characteristic ways of Venetian painting, are typical of his repertoire.
The two canvases are of a beautiful size, complete with their splendid gilded frames and are presented in excellent condition.
The paintings blend together excellently and their arrangement on the wall is of great elegance.
