Venetian walnut veneered and inlaid fall front desk, 18th century

Elegant Venetian fall front desk from the first half of the 18th century, entirely veneered and inlaid in walnut and walnut burl, with refined continuous geometric patterns on the front and sides. The curved front features three large shaped drawers, enriched by an elaborate diamond and panel design, characteristic of quality Venetian production. The drop-leaf top, also veneered and inlaid, conceals an architectural interior with two upper drawers and a central compartment. A perfectly functioning sliding panel gives access to a hidden compartment that houses six original secret drawers, made of walnut and still intact. Structure on shaped feet consistent with the era. Beautiful patina and original internal mechanisms. Condition: excellent, with full functionality of the internal system.
