Icon of Saints Simonas, Gurij, and Abibos – Russian Icon, Moscow, late 19th century

This small, finely executed icon depicts the three Russian martyr saints: Simonas, Gurij, and Abibos, venerated in the Russian Orthodox tradition as martyrs and confessors of the faith. The three figures are depicted frontally, each with a silver halo and meticulously detailed liturgical vestments, enhanced by a splendid chased silver riza, precision-crafted by Moscow goldsmiths in the late 19th century. The saints are characterized by individualized features: the serene face of Simonas, the long ascetic beard of Gurij, and the youthful face of Abibos.
