Description:
The painting depicts a bright alpine landscape dominated by the imposing spires of the Rosengarten massif, observed here from the suggestive area of the Wuhn lake (Wuhnleger), famous for its privileged view of the Catinaccio group and for its grassy slopes dotted with wooden farmsteads.
In the background stands the characteristic jagged profile of the Rosengarten massif, rendered in rosy and pearl-gray tones that evoke the clear light of the early hours of the day.
In the foreground, a large grassy slope stretches out, crossed by a path that guides the viewer's eye towards the wooden farmsteads typical of the Dolomites area. The huts, distributed at different heights on the side of the mountain, are represented with realistic attention: shingle roofs, loggias and wooden structures perfectly integrated into the landscape. A low stone wall follows the line of the slope, suggesting ancient agricultural arrangements.
The green masses of the meadows and woods contrast with the delicate tones of the distant peaks, creating a harmonious composition rich in atmospheric depth. The work conveys a strong sense of quiet, uncontaminated nature and visual balance.
In this work, the author uses a very diluted oil paint, obtaining, also thanks to the light colors, an effect of general delicacy.
