This is a work by the Jesuit friar Mario Venzo, a Venetian painter who, after his youthful painting activity as a bohemian in Paris, consecrated himself to monastic life in 1940, continuing to paint, however. In this work, a young worker is depicted in the foreground, inside a modern artisan workshop, whose head is surrounded by light: this is probably a modern projection of Jesus as a young man working in his father's workshop. The style of the work refers to Venzo's pictorial period before 1953, the year after which his production was lit up with bright and lively colors, and a greater stylization of the figures, while often remaining linked to the sacred subject. The work is presented in a frame.
