Beautiful French fireplace in Burgundy stone, Louis XVI style, early 19th century.
The fireplace is completely original and does not require restoration (SEE PHOTOS).
The fireplace uprights are deeper compared to the top; the reason is that normally the wall was made sloped to create a hood effect. If this system is no longer necessary, the two uprights can be shortened by cutting them or by building them in a bit more into the wall.
