17th-century walnut and burr walnut double-bodied sideboard, Marche-Papal State area. (238cm x 150cm)
Description:
Splendid double-bodied sideboard in walnut and burr walnut from the second half of the 17th century, in perfect and original condition in every part. It is an antique sacristy cabinet, which keeps its charm alive, still showing on the borders of the lower chest of drawers the indications for storing the liturgical textile devices in an orderly manner.
Area of origin: Papal State
The lower part is in the style of a chest of drawers with three drawers and a small one that lowers and acts as desk (scarabattolo).
In the upper body, the two doors open as a sideboard with shelves inside.
Its mouldings are precious, on the sides, on the doors, on the drawers, on the pillars and on the beautiful cornice which gives the cabinet a remarkable architectural concreteness.
The double body measures 238 cm in height including the two parts, 150 cm in width and 71 cm in depth.
We attach a certificate to the sale that guarantees its authenticity and age, with photographic documentation of the furniture.
The furniture can be seen in our gallery in Foligno (PG) located in P.zza Ettore Giacomini 42.
