Piedmontese walnut wardrobe with fluted doors, late 18th century
Description:
Solid Piedmontese wardrobe in solid walnut, datable to the late eighteenth century (circa 1780–1790). A very well-made piece of furniture, characterized by doors with elegant vertical fluted panels, typical of the late 18th-century rural tradition of Piedmont. The structure has well-balanced proportions and a beautiful overhanging cornice at the top. The doors, mounted on a frame, retain the original lock and escutcheon in wrought iron. The interior offers ample storage space, ideal for linen, trousseau or wardrobe. The furniture can be completely disassembled into two parts, a functional characteristic typical of wardrobes from the Alpine and Po Valley area of ??the period, useful for facilitating transport and positioning even in homes with reduced access. Made of excellent quality solid walnut, the furniture retains an authentic and pleasant patina. The structure is solid and stable, ready to be placed.
