Gustave Émile Couder (1845-1903), born in Paris, was a student of M. Wasselon. He regularly exhibited his works from 1869 at the "Salon Des Artistes Français".
A work by the painter is displayed in the French museum of Mulhouse.
The antique gilded frame and the antique oil painting have been professionally restored.
