Description:
"View of the Roman Forum with the Temple of Concord" fine watercolor by Juan Jimenez Martin (Adanero 1855-Madrid 1901). He was a famous Spanish painter, specializing in historical scenes. He studied at the "Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando of Madrid", under the guidance of important artists such as Federico de Madrado, Carlos Luis de Ribera and Carlos de Haes. In 1881 he was selected by the "Diputacion Provincial de Avila" and was granted a scholarship that allowed him to study abroad. He moved to Rome, where he remained from 1882 to 1886. Inspired by the works of Mariano Fortuny, he began to create Orientalist paintings and visited various cities, including Florence, Naples and Venice, where he mainly produced landscapes. Our watercolor is from the Roman period and is set in a gilded gold leaf frame. Watercolor dimensions 24x41.5 cm, with frame 37.5x55.5 cm  Translated
