Elegant gilded bronze table clock, featuring the depiction of a poet at the top. The character in fact holds a sheet and a pen in his respective hands, as well as wearing a rich hat and elegant clothes. The poet is sitting on a rock, which has not been gilded, leaving the bronze in its original color. In the lower part of the clock, vegetal motifs and volutes alternate, with parts of armor in the center. The clock is working, and has a Roman numeral dial and a chime that rings the hours and half hours. On the mechanism there is also the abbreviation "F.C." to be attributed to the watchmaker. It is a very elegant clock, able to furnish any environment with refinement. French manufacture of the neoclassical period, from the end of the 18th century.
