Lacquered wooden box with chinoiserie decorations
The entire surface of the elegant box, rectangular in shape and of generous dimensions, is finely decorated, both on the lid and along the band, with a rich chinoiserie decoration that recalls the taste for the exotic and oriental, very popular between the 17th and 18th centuries. The scene, enclosed within a rhomboid cartouche on a mustard yellow background, masterfully represents an enchanting landscape populated by pagodas, lush plants and delicate flowers, offering a refined play of colors and shapes.
Piedmont, Louis XV (mid-18th century).
