Polychrome Terracotta Female Bust – 18th Century
Elegant female bust in polychrome terracotta, datable to the 18th century.
The figure has delicate features and a refined serene expression, typical of late Baroque iconography. The wavy and collected hair is painted with golden hues, while the face is characterized by pale complexion, slightly reddened cheeks and rosy lips, glass eyes.
The careful workmanship and expressive rendering suggest an artistic production of Neapolitan or Genoese school, intended for a sacred composition.
It has an original patina and signs of aging that testify to its authenticity. Minimal missing parts and cracks do not compromise the legibility or the charm of the piece.
