Rare and elegant Viennese Empire psyche mirror. Vienna 1810-15 approx. In practically intact condition, including the glass.
Description:
Vienna 1810-15 approx. Rare and elegant Viennese Empire psyche mirror in transition with the early Biedermeier. A sober and elegant piece, with "minimal" lines, veneered in walnut feather, of excellent quality as typical of Viennese cabinet making of the period, when master cabinet makers personally chose the trees suitable for creating the most fascinating veins, in secret places in the woods south of Vienna. Solid side columns support the mirror which maintains the chosen position thanks to perfect balance. The hinges, on which it rotates, obviously original, are in chiselled bronze. The work is in conditions of wood and glass integrity. It has been masterfully French polished to a buffer with a museum standard technique on an integrally preserved first patina. The fir back, which protects the mirror, has also been polished to perfectly allow a centre use. Work with a warm original patina and the fascinating muffled reflection of the antique mirror, which is also original. Perfect also for combining with the modern furniture of a classy residence, or for a prestigious luxury commercial activity, hotel or restaurant. Measures in maximum height cm. 218, width 112, depth at the base cm. 66. Internal mirror measurements with frame 86 x 141. In compliance with the provisions of the New Code of Cultural Heritage, the selling company provides, at the time of sale, a detailed written photographic guarantee of the originality and provenance of the works sold. The data with which the works are described and then contained in the written guarantees are expressed determinations resulting from accurate and documented technical/historical/artistic investigations, even of a peritial nature.
