Rare Longines aviator wristwatch from circa 1940, with original enamel dial, nicknamed "Tartarugone". Fluorescent indices. Used by Czechoslovakian aviation pilots during World War II. Marked, labeled, and numbered with the Longines brand. Working and entirely original, with patina and signs of wear consistent with its age. Staybrite stainless steel case. Movement with 14 and a half lines and anchor escapement ref. 3582. Rotating bezel. Assigned and numbered by the Czechoslovak army of the time. "Majetek Vojenske Spravy n....". Diameter 40 mm excluding the crown. This rare, fascinating, and sought-after original watch, of which only about 3,500 were produced at the time, and very few of which were assigned, has recently been reproduced by Longines in a new prestigious line.
