Description:
“Iznik” Vase – Cantagalli

A central band with a continuous rosette decoration, delimited by two raised cordons, divides the vase into two hemispherical portions: the lower one pictorially marked by a geometric decoration of lanceolate leaves, the upper one with a decoration of facing birds (parrots or peacocks). The vase is painted in polychromy with the dominant chromatic of bright green, in compliance with the Ottoman earthenware tradition of the 16th century.
