"Tulip" plate – Doccia
Lobbed porcelain plate, with a ribbed edge and floral decoration expressed in branches arranged on the brim and in the center in the shape of a peony, of oriental inspiration, among leaves and other small flowers. This decoration, originally defined as "flowers of various colors in the Chinese style" has become known over the centuries as "tulip" due to a misinterpretation.
