Antique Louis XV Neapolitan mirror in gilded and carved wood. 18th century period.
Description:
Description: Elegant Neapolitan mirror from the second half of the 18th century, entirely sculpted, carved, and gilded with gold leaf.
The mirror presents itself as a triumph of carved wood with a movement that develops from the bottom upwards where it is possible to appreciate all its fineness.
The cymatium is a succession of volutes, rocaille, scallop shells, and vegetal racemes.
Two small feet with a rocaille motif contribute to the elegance and refinement of this splendid object.
The mirror is made of mercury salt glass and is contemporary with the wooden frame.
